A much simplified revision of the highly engineered PS 1000 issued three years previously. The PS 1000 AS was priced at 1,350 DM in 1965, as compared to the PS 500 priced at 750 DM in 1968. 

The design language is consistent between the PS 1000 and the PS 500 model pictured. Another version of the PS 500, issued in black, established a new and rather moodier idiom.
